It's On My Mind

I like old cars, old movies, old songs,……and old friends. I just got thru sitting and talking with an old friend. It was like a breath of fresh air!
Proverbs 17:17 would remind us that friends love at all times. Proverbs 18:24 says, “…..there is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother.”
I have always related that to Jesus. He will NEVER forsake us or leave us alone. What a Friend!!!! Take some time to spend with this FRIEND today.
It was just on my mind.

Well, it's good to be back. I took a few days off hoping that Barbie and I could get some R&R.
After canning beans for two days, making jelly from apples the grandsons had picked on another day, Barbie said, “Honey, you need to go back to work, I am worn out.” Me too. But it was good to be able to spend some time together, and we did get to Ryan's to eat one evening. Yummy!!!!
This morning my mind is on Evelyn Sanchez and her family. Sunday evening Evelyn's husband, Bob, went home to be with his LORD. This was quite sudden. Evelyn's sister had died only a week or so ago. The funeral will be in Bradenton, Florida Saturday morning. I really feel like I need to go….So I covet your prayers for the traveling and ministry time there.
Psalms 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Bob was a good friend, and man of God and a faithful member of our church and will be missed by all. Please continue to pray for his wife and family during this time.

Isaiah 12:3 says, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”
I read those words again this morning and thought ..Wow! I was reminded of the verse from Nehemiah 8 where we are told that, “the joy of the LORD is our strength”.
I was just thinking about the joy that comes from our LORD. It is a deep peace that lets us rest, even in the midst of storms. It is a deep confidence that brings us hope, even when the outlook is bleak. It is a joy that plants a song deep in our soul, even when tears may be on our face. It is the JOY OF THE LORD. Walk in it and be joyful…..today.
