Welcome to KidStuf
What do we teach children? We believe you can't teach everything and we don't want to teach just anything that's why we teach less for more from God's Word.
Concept:
252 Basics is a unique approach built around three Basic Biblical Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
• I need to make the wise choice.
• I can trust God no matter what.
• I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Each Basic Truth is amplified by a weekly key concept and systematically taught over a three-year track. The curriculum includes 150 Bible stories and is based on a Core Virtue and Memory Verse as the framework for each month
What is KidStuf ?
KidStuf is where kids and parents learn together about God's Big Ideas! It is a monthly, 60-minute, fun, interactive, multi-media shared experience designed for families.
Kidstuf meets at the main stage in the FLC. Look for the signs and they will lead you to the Clubhouse!
What's the Big Idea?
It's something that every parent wants their kid to learn. We would like to say that we came up with these ideas first, but actually, they are God's Big Ideas, such as self- control, honesty, patience, and gratitude . There is a different Big Idea each month that is the over-riding theme in KidStuf and Sunday 252 Basic Groups. Every element of KidStuf and the Sunday morning groups are centered on the Word of God which is 100% true.
Why does KidStuf exist?
KidStuf exists to partner with parents. We believe that parents are ultimately responsible for the spiritual development of their children (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We also recognize that parents have a whole lot more time with their kids than anyone at church. In fact, each year kids spend about 3,000 hours with their parents versus the 40 or so that they will spend attending church on Sunday. As a result, no one has more influence over a child than his or her parent. Because of this, we believe that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church alone. We believe that it is our role to partner with parents by providing a plan that will give them the tools they need to lead their kids spiritually. This plan is launched at KidStuf on Wednesdays at 7pm downstairs in the Kidstuf theater at House of Prayer and then on Sundays at 10am there are small groups that talk about the Bible story for each age group led by a caring group leader.
Who should attend KidStuf ?
Kids (Kindergarten through 5th grade) AND their parent or grandparent. We ask that all kids attend with a guardian.
What is a Take Out?
Since Kidstuf is such “good food” from God's Word you'll want to take it with you. We call this “Take Out”, it is an application tool to help you do what you heard all month long.
How do I get the KidStuf Take-Out?
By coming to KidStuf During each production the KidStuf Take-Out is introduced and explained. Every family who comes to KidStuf receives a KidStuf Take-Out . (On the first Wednesday of the month, Take-Out's are only available at this time at KidStuf )
What do you have to help me as a parent?
Familytimes virtue Paks are available in limited quantities at Kidstuf and can be purchased at our resource table at the back. Familytimes is designed to help equip parents with easy to use tools to make the most of everyday moments together.
These tools are based on the biblical model that teaches that the home should be the primary place where a child learns about God.
Here's what the Bible says to parents about teaching virtues to their children...
“ Impress them upon your children. Talk to them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6;7 NIV
FamilyTimes packs provide activities to be used once a week during each of these four family times- MealTime, DriveTime,BedTime, and MorningTime. All of this is designed to give parents simple ways to help their kids grow up like Jesus did in faith and character.
“ And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”
Luke 2:52
